Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME M2) – Airbus A320 Line Maintenance (YYZ)

Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME M2) required to work for a leading commercial aviation maintenance and airline operations organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity based at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to join an established airline / MRO environment, whilst being rewarded with a competitive package and exposure to Airbus A320‑family line maintenance in a fast‑paced hub operation.


Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work as an AME M2 – Airbus A320 Line Maintenance, performing various tasks including:

  • Performing daily inspections, transit checks, service checks, and routine line maintenance tasks on Airbus A320‑family aircraft (A318/A319/A320/A321)
  • Troubleshooting and rectifying defects across airframe, powerplant, avionics, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Executing MEL procedures including deferrals, placarding, and accurate technical logbook entries in accordance with Transport Canada CARs
  • Replacing, testing, and certifying LRUs including avionics units, sensors, actuators, wheels, brakes, and other line‑replaceable components
  • Using approved Airbus maintenance data such as AMM, FIM, TSM, SRM, IPC, and approved digital maintenance systems to accomplish and record work
  • Coordinating with flight crews, Maintenance Control Centre (MCC), dispatch, and operations teams to support safe and on‑time departures
  • Applying Safety Management System (SMS) principles, human‑factors awareness, and YYZ airside safety standards at all times
  • Completing technical records, defect rectifications, and aircraft release sign‑offs in accordance with AME licence privileges
  • Supporting AOG recoveries, ramp troubleshooting, and irregular operations as operationally required
  • Complying with YYZ airside safety rules, WHMIS, and company quality and procedural standards

Mandatory Requirements

  • Valid Transport Canada AME Licence – M2
  • Airbus A320‑family line maintenance experience or type training on A318/A319/A320/A321
  • Ability to work shift patterns including nights, weekends, and irregular operations
  • Strong troubleshooting capability in a time‑critical line maintenance environment
  • Familiarity with electronic maintenance tracking systems (AMOS, TRAX, Maintenix, or similar)
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain RAIC and airside driver permit for YYZ
  • Strong understanding of CARs, MEL application, and regulatory compliance

Desirable Requirements

  • A320 type course
  • Previous experience working at a large international hub airport
  • Strong communication skills when liaising with flight crews and operational teams
  • Proven ability to work independently on the line with minimal supervision
  • Experience supporting AOG and disruption recovery events
